Wildlife & Rural photography is about the parts of the world that still feel grounded.
Animals moving through their own environment. Horses in open country. Fields, barns, fences, weathered wood, livestock, dirt roads, working land, and the quiet spaces between towns.
This work is less about posing a scene and more about noticing what is already there.
Wildlife
Deer, birds, small animals, predators, and other wildlife photographed with patience and respect for their space.
Horses & Rural Animals
Horses, livestock, working animals, and the character of life around barns, pastures, arenas, and open ground.
Rural Landscapes
Fields, farms, ranches, fences, back roads, old structures, tree lines, and the wide spaces that define rural life.
Western & Equine Environments
Barrel racing, horse expos, arenas, working tack, dust, movement, and the details that come with western and equine life.
Seasonal Rural Life
Spring growth, summer dust, fall color, winter fields, changing weather, and the way rural places shift throughout the year.
Quiet Details
Tracks in the mud. Worn fence posts. Old barns. Hoofprints. Feathers. Rust. Grass moving in the wind.
Not every strong photograph has to be loud.
Wildlife is not a prop.
The goal is never to crowd, chase, bait, or stress an animal just to get a photograph.
Sometimes the best choice is to stay back.
Sometimes the animal leaves before the shot happens.
That is part of the work.
A photograph is not worth interfering with the thing I came to appreciate in the first place.
Rural photography is not just pretty barns and sunsets.
It is work.
It is weather.
It is animals, equipment, worn hands, old buildings, changing land, and generations of people doing things the way they have always been done while adapting to what comes next.
Those details matter.
They tell you where a place came from and what kind of life happens there.
I may be stepping away from traditional equine portrait sessions, but horses are not disappearing from Iron Buffalo.
They belong here.
Horses in motion. Horses at work. Rodeo and barrel racing. Quiet pasture moments. The relationship between animals and the land around them.
That is very different from building a business around posed horse-and-rider sessions.
It is about documenting the world they belong to.

Some images are documentation.
Some become art.
Sometimes they are both.
Give the animal room. Respect the land. Pay attention to the quiet moments.
