My approach isn’t theoretical — it’s built from real situations with real horses.
I’ve worked with horses that were labeled dangerous, unmanageable, or “too much” — not by overpowering them, but by slowing things down and letting the horse reset.
Examples include:
A large paint gelding with a history of bolting, bucking, and running into fences.
Instead of rushing him forward, I focused on balance, collection, and calm transitions. When he attempted to buck near a fence, I stayed steady, brought him back to a controlled trot, and continued without escalating pressure. Within two short sessions, he was moving collected and responsive — despite outside pressure to push faster.
A loose mustang encountered late at night that no one else could safely handle.
I calmly led the horse up onto a deck and maintained control and relaxation in an unfamiliar, high-stress environment — without force or restraint.
A pony that multiple people had chased unsuccessfully for hours.
I approached quietly, lowered my energy, waited for the horse to choose engagement, and calmly secured her with simple twine — returning her safely to her owner without a struggle.
In each situation, the outcome came from observation, timing, and calm leadership — not force.
