My photography has been used by news outlets, broadcast media, and organizations to document breaking events, community stories, public-interest subjects, and live coverage.
The work is built around timing, context, and accuracy showing up when something is happening, documenting it as it unfolds, and preserving the moment without turning it into something it wasn’t.
Whether it’s an emergency scene, weather event, community story, or fast-moving situation, the goal stays the same: capture what is real, useful, and worth remembering.
I’m the photographer and creative behind Iron Buffalo Co., based in Eugene, Oregon.
My work is focused on nature, wildlife, weather, field coverage, and original art — the places, conditions, movement, and real-world moments that are worth documenting.
I began working with photography in 1999 and have spent more than 25 years developing my eye through film, digital photography, live events, equine and action environments, documentary work, and years spent learning how to read light, timing, movement, and atmosphere.
I’m not interested in chasing trends or forcing every image into the same polished mold. I care about what is actually happening in front of me — the weather rolling in, an animal moving through a landscape, a fire scene unfolding, a storm changing the sky, a quiet place most people overlook.
The goal is simple: make strong work that feels real and lasts.
Nature Photography — Landscapes, forests, rivers, mountains, changing seasons, natural light, and the details found outdoors
Wildlife & Rural Photography — Wildlife, horses, rural environments, open country, and animals in natural or working settings
Weather & Storm Photography — Storm systems, dramatic skies, rain, fog, lightning, wildfire smoke, and changing atmospheric conditions
Editorial & Documentary Photography — Emergencies, public safety, community stories, breaking events, and real-world documentation
Field & Action Photography — Motorsports, rodeo, events, movement, fast-changing situations, and on-location coverage
Fine Art & Creative Work — Original photography, digital art, experimental work, and pieces inspired by nature, weather, wildlife, and western life
Visual Storytelling — Strong composition, timing, light, context, and an eye for moments that carry a story
Editing & Print Preparation — Clean, intentional post-production designed to preserve the character of the original image and prepare select work for print, display, and licensing
I’m building a body of work rooted in strength, clarity, and longevity — photography and art that feel grounded, intentional, and real.
Whether I’m documenting wildlife, weather, rural life, a community story, or a developing event, the goal stays the same: preserve what was actually there and tell the story with purpose.
The work here isn’t about chasing noise, trends, or novelty. It’s about paying attention, recognizing the moment, and creating something honest enough to last.
